Wet core - possible trouble spots

Post by Nancy »

In the thread on installing a windlass - viewtopic.php?f=7&t=5633 - Chris and Rob mentioned that they both found dampness in the bow pulpit on their 28TE's. I thought it might be helpful to point out other possible trouble spots.

The lift handles on our two anchor locker hatches are broken, so I removed one of the fittings to look for manufacturer's markings on the back side. The wood underneath is wet and rotted - the chiseled divot isn't sealed at all. We'll be taking off both hatches this fall for winter repair.
