Boat Stands
Looking ahead to a Spring haul-out. Is there any recommended number, brand or type, position under the hull, etc., of boat stands, or maybe an entirely different method of supporting the boat for a week or two? This is a 1995 28TE, to be transported by Travel-Lift for maybe 500 feet. Comments also appreciated about how this is "usually" done. I didn't turn up anything by using the site's search function. Thanks.

Yep, solid wooden blocks under the keel, and 4-6 jacks to keep it upright, always chained together. It's best if the jacks and blocks are placed at the sling points, since you know that this is where the boat was designed to be lifted from.
The keel takes the weight, the purpose of the jackstands is just to keep it from tipping over.
As chief suggested, most yards are very adept at doing this and will usually provide the blocks, jacks, and expertise as part of the haul-out fee.
