Which boat do you have, Bob?Bobforz wrote: ↑Tue Apr 18, 2023 12:59 pm Is it true that the hatch over the dinette was installed with 5200? I think mine is leaking I want to remove it and reseal it I really don't want to do a patch. I started to remove it BUTT that thing doesn't want to budge if it is 5200 I am worried that the gel coat will come with the hatch. I was able to get a snap on gasket scrapper under one corner. I hate to start forcing things that usually leads to a bad place. A
any help would be appreciated.
You're welcome. Heads up - Captain Tolley's, not Trolleys.
They're normally bonded down with sealant and that is why you may be struggling to remove it. A thin blade between the seal will help you.Bobforz wrote: ↑Thu Apr 20, 2023 6:20 am I think you're talking about a leak at the hatch window seal and the frame? My problem is between the frame and the deck as I posted earlier, I am having one hell of a time removing the hatch! I already did the 6-port hole windows one was leaking pretty bad port side aft,
water was seen leaking into the aft bunk. I really don't want to have to replace the hatch it should be an easy fix just some time.
9 years leak free - well except a small amount of water from the replacement seal from the window to the frame but not from the frame to the deck and that’s only when I wash down with a hose in that area.
I was talking about a leak between the frame and the deck on the overhead hatch on a 35CB. Same idea as the 28TE. If you're in the process of removing the hatch, it's probably too late to try my approach (Captain Tolley's).Bobforz wrote: ↑Thu Apr 20, 2023 6:20 am I think you're talking about a leak at the hatch window seal and the frame?
