Engine Conversion

Im Looking for some input on the Cummins engines. When looked for a 28TE 2 years ago I found my current boat in Boston with the GM Diesal, it runs like new at this point. I wanted the boat with the Cummins engine, but the best boat that was in my price range was the GM. Im thinking of finding a 6BT engine and converting when the time comes. I wonder if some of the current owners with the Cummins engine can give me there input on there HP, Prop size and speeds. Are you happy? My boat is on a trailer, I pull it with a Dodge 3500 truck with the Cummins 6Bt engine 24 valve, so I like the engine for sure. Also looking for a Cummins engine and service, parts manuals. Lucky you - from what I can see you are only 20 miles from Seaboard Marine in Oxnard, CA. They are Cummins repower specialists. Here is the link to the company's site as well as to boatdiesel.com which is run by the company owner, Tony Athens. He's highly respected in the marine repower business and Cummins is his specialty. There is a wealth of info on both of his sites.
