Here is a picture of my current floor:
A bit industrial but easy to keep clean.
I still have the original carpet but don’t plan on using it, carpets and boats are not a good combo in my book:(
Another piece of carpet under the table, but seems more of a project:
Have to un-bolt, or un-screw the table base to remove it. Will probably do that down the line and instal matching teak/holly..
Any tips on removing the base?

Norseman, I think I'd rather have bare fiberglass than Dri-Dek. Tough to keep that clean and the FG, too, and it's probably tough on bare feet. The transom compartments and the anchor locker are great candidates for the Dri-Dek.

Actually easy on feet and easy to keep clean: take it off the boat and hose it down!
Not my choice, it came with the boat. (As well as the carpet)
Got it in the anchor lockers as well..
Teak and Holly is next, or some faux stuff like Nu-Deck.
(Boats are fun, always something to do and to spend money on )

Thanks to Capt. Brad I now have the pattern for the teak and holly cabin sole.
Took it to Seafarer Marine http://seafarermarine.com/
to get an estimate on the flooring.
$700 for real teak and holly.
$160 for a vinyl product that looks pretty good, see picture below.
(I just may go that route)

Probably 2-sided tape to keep the floor in place, and epoxy for the hatch.
Or screws. Many ways to skin a cat.
This is still in the planning stages.

I installed PlasTeak on my last boat. https://www.plasteak.com. It's good looking and easy to install using their acrylic adhesive. I plan to use it again on my 28TE.

Two sided tape, or mastic adhesives, will soften and come loose when heated by direct sunlight. Something to keep in mind.

Very nice work on the refinishing!
It looks like you have a flat deck to put the wood down on. In the 28's the floor curves at the edges which would make fastening a wood floor down a little more challenging. I certainly want to get the old carpet out and I'm vacillating between SeaDek and wood. How much trouble have you had keeping the wood looking good?

This is first time refinishing it. I just bought the boat last spring. The deck had only one worn area, going from steps to head. Since it had only 290 hours, I guess they just partied and woe the finish off using the head all day! The as is under the table. Since they were in good shape , I didn’t touch them. I expect with enough coats, it will be years before it needs refinishing. Guess I’ll find out but wood is easier to keep clean and dry! Brad

It is easy: I had teak and holly on my sailboat for 14 years. Never had to re-do or varnish it, but everybody had to take shoes off, always.
Then no maintenance..

Got my rear cabin sole in this past weekend. Finished it about 5 weeks ago. Used Epifanes Clear Varnish and thinner with two final coats of Epifanes Rubbed Effect. Turned out more of a brown color than the red hue of the front cabin. Was an improvement from what it looked like before.

I had the bright idea of cleaning my bilge and that turned into a total bilge paint project. I hope to wrap that up this weekend.
