Window removal & replacement
I need to remove the windows on my 31TE. The frames are peeling and I want to have them stripped and powder coated. I removed the interior and exterior screws, but the window still seems secure. Any ideas on how to remove them?

Seems like it should be a quick answer for someone who knows. Have you tried calling the factory? Worth a try anyway.SCHUTZEE wrote:Both Albin and the dealer who sold me the boat, Whitewater Marine, have ignored my emails asking for info. If I had a schematic of the cross section, it would help me figure out a way to cut the caulking that I assume is keeping them in.
Any suggestions?
The number there is 401-682-1600
Good luck!

Window removal
Most likely there is a quality marine adhesive holding the windows in. There is a product called Debond, Marine Formula that breaks down cured adhesives including 5200. Check out their website to find a local supplier.

Powder Coating
When having older material powder coated, make sure they de-gas the frames before they shoot the powder on. A short time in the oven will help rid the aluminum of impurities that might come out through the paint.
