28TE boat lift question

Post by eddiecasey »

I'm negotiating for a 1994 28TE with a V drive engine(cockpit hump)and hope to put it on my existing lift. I wonder if the sling marks on this boat are different than the later flush deck models. It appears that the center of gravity for the older models is further aft. I'm concerned about the closeness of the seawall. Can anyone tell me what the dimensions are regarding the lift marks or how much overhang is typical both forward and aft when the boat is on the lift. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Hi Eddie,

Wouldn't you just use the sling marks on the boat you're purchasing? They should line up well for balance and hull strength.

The engine box model does have the engine further back than the flush deck, but I believe the shape of the skeg, and the sling point, are very similar.

Good luck with the purchase!

I should be down at my boat this weekend and can measure the position of the sling marks, but as mine sits in the water I can't help you with the location on a lift. The skeg and everything should be the same shape reguardless of the year.
