I am so sorry for your loss. I hope you will find peace in your life knowing that your son is no longer fighting that battle and that you are able to remember the happy times you had with him. Denis

Re: Hug your family
Thank you all, very much, for the kind words and thoughts. AOG is just the nicest bunch of people and Kathy and I are pleased to be a part of it.
For those who might be interested we've asked that donations in Colin's name be made to Connecticut Renaissance, 350 Fairfield Avenue, Suite 701, Bridgeport, CT 06604 as well as the national organization “Shatterproof” (www.shatterproof.org).
I'd especially encourage people to check out Shatterproof, which looks to change the conversation on addiction, from one that looks at it as a crime, to one that treats it as the powerful, merciless disease that it is.
Again, my sincere thanks.

Re: Hug your family
Add our deepest sympathies & condolences for your loss to those expressed above. Even though we've never met in person, as fellow Albin boaters our thoughts and prayers are with you as well. Can't imagine anything worse than having to bury a child lost to the scourge of drugs in the prime of life. May all those pushers and cartel gangsters burn in Hell.

Re: Hug your family
Doug so sorry to hear the terrible news, since we sold the Albin I do not check in much. We did have the pleasure of spending some time with you and showing you our NSC 40 Highlander in Greenport. We join so many other of your friends expressing our sincere condolences to you and Kathy. I will take your advice and make a contribution and then I will hug my family and thank God they are safe.

Re: Hug your family
Dear Doug,
I am only now catching up on posts and want to express our most sincere and heartfelt sympathy. Addiction is so horrible for the victim and all surrounding loved ones. It is also so frustratingly difficult to deal with and there is so much of it. We had a young person in our family got through years of it and he is still dealing with the aftermath and will for the rest of his life. Please be strong - there was nothing more you could have done - it has to come from within the person suffering. We are thinking of you.

Doug ,
As well, I wish to express my heartfelt sorrow for the tragic loss of your son Colin. As you know, this has no boundaries and crosses all lines while touching the best of all people. Please find comfort in your family, friends and time on the water.

You're living every parent's nightmare. I couldn't be more sorry and my family will pray for you and your family.
My family has been wracked by addiction as well. Too many of our best, brightest most creative and sensitive souls fall victim to this public health crisis.

Doug & Kathy, I am so deeply sorry to hear of your loss of a son. As I have lost my own son, at 26 almost 6 years ago I feel your pain. My heart is with to you and your Family. Eddy

Doug & Kathy,
I just poked my head in to see what was going on and saw your message. I'm deeply saddened to hear of the loss of your son, Colin. Prayers to both of you and your family. Seems like not that long ago we met after organizing the first Albin Rendezvous but its been quite a while.
Take care,
Jack
