A25 Rudder Strut Repair Info

Post by Elbowlake »

Looking for information that would help repair a 1978 A25 rudder strut (runs from the keel to support the bottom of the rudder). I managed to bend mine on a rock while backing up the trailer. Dam Boat is still usable, but the strut has been bent up and to starboard. I have found information on dropping the rudder. Would like to know details on the strut such as how far into the keel the strut goes, how the strut is shaped inside the keel and how it is attached to the keel. Not sure if my best approach is to remove the strut from the keel to straighten it or if there is a possible replacement source. Would appreciate any insight.
