stain color

hi I am a new member purchased a 28 te in November head door doesn't close so I need sand it down a little wondering what stain to use when I stain it.

Don't believe any stain is necessary. If it's cherry, as most are, just a varnish touch-up should do the trick.

Don't stain it, sand it down and refurbish it with Danish or Tung Oil, you might want to wax it has had plenty of time to cure -will be beautiful again!

My door was rubbing also. Instead of sanding, I was able to flush fit the hinges into the door which took care of the rubbing. No need to sand or re-finish anything, maybe you will be as lucky.

this seems to be a height problem plenty of room on the sides even to

Before you do anything, put a small heater in the heads to ensure everything is dry.

I find when it gets a bit damp in the cabin the door jams in the same sort of way - more so when the boat is out of the water.

I actually flush fit the bottom hinge and partially the middle hinge so it tapered the door angle slightly it gave a bit of spacing at the top of the door.

If the boat is not in the water, don't do anything yet. Wait till she's been in the water for at least a month. She'll settle then and you can see how everything fits. Ben
