Re: stain color
Don't believe any stain is necessary. If it's cherry, as most are, just a varnish touch-up should do the trick.
Re: stain color
Don't stain it, sand it down and refurbish it with Danish or Tung Oil, you might want to wax it has had plenty of time to cure -will be beautiful again!

Re: stain color
My door was rubbing also. Instead of sanding, I was able to flush fit the hinges into the door which took care of the rubbing. No need to sand or re-finish anything, maybe you will be as lucky.

Before you do anything, put a small heater in the heads to ensure everything is dry.easyeee wrote:this seems to be a height problem plenty of room on the sides even to
I find when it gets a bit damp in the cabin the door jams in the same sort of way - more so when the boat is out of the water.

Re: stain color
I actually flush fit the bottom hinge and partially the middle hinge so it tapered the door angle slightly it gave a bit of spacing at the top of the door.

Re: stain color
If the boat is not in the water, don't do anything yet. Wait till she's been in the water for at least a month. She'll settle then and you can see how everything fits. Ben
