On Board Tool Set & Spares
Recently moved from outboards to a Twin Inboard, I was wondering if anyone could advise on a proper list for on board tool set, and or preferences. Also wondering any advise on spare parts to keep on hand and/or on board for twin 315 Yanmars. Many thanks in advance.

Re: On Board Tool Set & Spares
Looking to a have a permanent set on board. I've always kept the bare minimum basics on my previous boat, just wondering if someone had a proper list that may be a good reference. I plan on overnighters offshore and 1-2 week trips on a 31 TE+2.

Re: On Board Tool Set & Spares
In addition to tools consider hose clamps of varied sizes, fuses, light bulbs and a funnel. Duct tape might help too.

Not sure if we have the same item or description is different but electrical tape is a must I find (also good for repairing fishing rod rings in an emergency) and also amalgamating tape just incase you ever have a hose failure.
I also carry a roll of spanners, metric and imperial - a basic socket set, screwdrivers and a gas powered soldering iron.

Safety earphones. One check of the engine while underway and you'll see why they are needed. Checking the engine before you fire up and leave the dock is good, but periodic inspections while underway are just as, or perhaps more, important. Or in the unfortunate event you have to tend to something down below while underway..

Checking for that elusive drip of fluid that only occurs when the engine is running... You will definitely need these!
I keep mine right in the glove box next to the helm.
