They from what I know have no water intrusion problems. The commercial specification boats aren't finished off that nicely to be honest but they are built to serve a purpose.
I know someone who has a wildcat 38 and they collected it from Cork in Ireland, crossed the Irish Sea and then headed along the coast back to Portsmouth with no issues. The only thing they encountered was realising half way across the Irish Sea, they had somehow turned off the autopilot. The boat had pretty much held its course despite a force 6 sea on the stern quarter.
