anchor locker sealing

Post by changer »

Hi, Want to stop water draining into bilge from anchor locker... It could be glassed I assume... also could put a bow drain thru the topside draining aft... what about using that spray rubber sealant advertised on TV. Not as good as glass I am sure...but could execute it sooner>
Any thoughts? thanks

I think Don put in external through hull up there. Mine goes straight to forward bilge. Clog resulted in a heck of a mess. Easy play would be as you suggest, external 5/8ths through hull at bottom of anchor locker. Most folks I believe on AOG would advise against drilling another through hull. my PO removed my forward bilge pump. As consequence, I have constant standing water below access panel in hanging locker. I'm going to remount the forward pump. I haven't checked yet but presumably the forward pump ties into the head sink drain through hull? Conceivably you could tap in their somewhere with an anchor locker drain line? Good question though. Been wondering the same thing.

My anchor locker has a drain thru the hull it self drains. I don't have access to the locker from inside the boat deck access thru a deck plate
