When I got my boat I had to clean about 4yrs of bottom paint off the mount. Had no idea where it went either. But rob has great pics of the location! Incidentally if you need to flush or drain your oil he mount is also the drain hole for the oil in the lower unit.

Oh! That explains why I never saw it since I owned the boat. It was never there.

Thanks Rob.

No problem. Well then that hole is gonna be a bit full of "stuff". Would be best to get the proper size tap to clear the threads.

As I have mentioned before on this issue, I do not gave a #BP129 anode on my Bow Thruster. After speaking to the Vetus reps at the boat show, they admitted that not all 23 have the BP129 anode. They recommended I use the ZINK02C as a replacement. The zinc is mounted in the tunnel of the bow thruster Has anyone had any experience with this anode.

Hey Max,

I haven't used that but wanted to mention that you'll need to "bond" both the zinc and the thruster. (The thick green wire). You'll drill through the tunnel and mount studs for the zinc. Connect the bond wire to one of those studs.

Obviously take care to mount it clear of the thruster prop! :)

I found a quick little YouTube video that helps show what I'm talking about.

Max, just screw it into the tunnel with some drywall screws, you'll be fine!

Seriously, I don't get it, what did the rep say, "Here, this goes in the tunnel"

That is an easy one on metal tunnel like on commercial applications or external thrusters but not for a small fiberglass tunnel like yours...

Rob and Doug, the anode comes with no instructions. The rep and info on the Vetus site is to mount it in the tunnel. However, my dry wall screw driver won't fit in the tunnel so that application is out. Dougs idea has merit. Ill check out the video first.
