Couple more projects!!

Post by socalmike »

Tower is installed. Started plumbing the center fish box in the transom to serve as a bait tank. I removed the existing bait pump to find the seacock not closing allowing water in. I am assuming the ball is gone. Plugged for now but I need to replace the flanged seacock. Anyone done this before? Details please. They are not bolted thru the hull.

I had the same problem Mike. I assume you're back in the water now because I took the pump off and squirted some WD40 in the ball valve on mine to free it off.

Mine are not flanged but I would use flanged and put a scoop on it. The ball valve is held in place from the thru hull. You have to hold it from the outside more than likley with something stuck into the thru hull. There are small tabs inside.. I have taken things out before using plungers while in the water on bigger boats but I would haul it to replace because of having to make sure you can remove it. In the mean time just add another valve in line..
