What would be a cause of the tach to shake back and forth when I go over 1500 rpm.. I have 1983 120hp ford lehman diesel engine ...thanks

Loose connection on either alternator or tach or poor ground.

Belt was very loose .... tighten it up and nw working fine thank you ...
