A25 door bottom delamination solution

Post by kerrye »

Most A25's will probably eventually get delamination of the plywood at the bottom of the doors due to moisture wicking up in the plywood. Here's my solution. Brass kick plates. Bought a piece of 12x24 brass from Amazon, but it by scoring it with a utility knife repeatedly and then bending over a sharp edge to break it. I didn't want to use tin snips since I thought the edges would be kinked. Had to nip off one corner on each door to get them to fit. Bottom left screw on bow door needs to be an inch or more to the right of the corner to avoid binding with the door moulding when the door is open.
