Slower Troll wanted

Post by Bob_Lee »

My 32+2 with the 370hp Cummins runs at better than 3.5 kts. at the slowest click before neutral. Is there an easy way to get this puppy to crawl more slowly? I bump troll in and out of gear sometimes, to keep the speed down for fat bass, but that is a pain. I am also concerned about added wear on the tranny with the constant in and out of gear.
Any ideas?

Bob, search the site, there is an entire post on installing trolling valves. If you have a transmission that allows this installation, it seems the best way to go.

A trolling valve is the way to go if you are a serious fisherman. If your a "weekender" like me, something like this will help.

Bob, check out the threads on trolling valves / alot of discussion on this subject over the past few months. I also have a 370B in my 28 and installed a mechanical valve this spring on my ZF tranny. One of the best things I've done. Trolling the tube and worm yesterday picked up two stripers at 1.5 knots. I used to idle at 5.5 to 6.2 knots. very handy around the docks as well.
