i' buying a TE 31 that has an "Auto helm Rudder Position"...but it does not have an autopilot.....what is the point of having that without an a.pilot?
what would folks recommend for an auto pilot....have raymarine C80

I have had good experience with Raymarine Autopilots and since you have a Raymarine display unit it would be easy to link them together.

Knowing your rudder position is crucial for good efficient close quarter maneuvering. Even with my twin screws I always take note of my rudder position before going into gear.pallares wrote:.....what is the point of having that without an a.pilot?...

I had a rudder position indicator on my Mainship (part of the autopilot) and I have one on my Albin.
I never use it and close quarter handle very well.
