New member from holland!!
Hello there, my name in martijn and i recently bought a albin 33 classic trawler. I found this site and thought it is usefull for me and others to share information and ideas online.
I live in Den Helder, the Netherlands and work as a navy diver for 13 years.
My area where i sail are the many lakes and the northsea in and around Holland.
The albin is my fourth boat. I used to sail a selfmade small motorboat and other typical dutch cruisers, i will tel about later on. When i bought my 33* she had the name 'eridan' like the galaxy far far away. After a small seremony she now sails under the name "zwaardvis" (swordfish in english) she was almost standard, but i already start to customize it to my wishes. I can opperate almost every machine and powertool, exept the machine of the devil... the computer. (And smartphones to ) I try to do my best and learn to post photo's and make as less as posible grammatical errors
I hope i am welcome an can be a asset to the forum.
Martijn

Welcome to the Albin forum, Martijn,
Albins were built for the North Sea, so you are in great cruising ground. Hope your 33 lives up to all your wishes. Look forward to seeing the pix.

Beautiful vessel Martijn; I am sure she will serve you well.
Regarding English in all its glory - I have worked with many Netherlanders, and they all have great English, including yourself.
Just imagine how boring the world would be if Jacques Yves Cousteau spoke English like me.

Welcome, I really enjoyed your comment about the status symbol, I think many boaters could say the same.
