That seems to be common to all boat windshield wipers. I suspect the same is true of the ones in your car but their location behind the dash muffles the noise.

Just wait until you have problems with the windows fogging up and you have to install fans like I did. Wipers + fans + engine noise + VTS on the VHF = noisy cabin.

I"m guessing by the name you're in Cape Cod...but if you listen intently on a rainy day, I'm sure you'll hear mine in Virginia....SWISH/WHACK, SWISH/WHACK, SWISH/WHACK.......

Honestly...I'd rather take the time to use RainX and just forgo the wipers when I can.

Southwind,
I'll be listening intently!!

I think your Rain-X idea may be the way to go.

Sure would like those wiper motors to quiet down though....

NO TOUCH

PERMATEX makes a product called "No Touch Instant Rain Shield" It's like rain x, but you just spray it on. No need to work the stuff onto the windshield. :D

I checked their website and saw this. "Raindrops bead off windshield above 35 mph". One question comes to mind...

What engine do you have in that boat? <smile>
