How would you install a second bildge pump ... Can you use the same hose as the pump is on now ? To run both ? And what size for a 36 trawler ... Thanks

No you want a complete independent system. Diff power source diff hose thru hull etc.

Agreed. But, if you have to use the same discharge it can be done but it's really easier to just add another thru-hull. If staying with the single thru-hull fitting, the two pump hoses must flow up to the highest point possible (vented loop) then flow down to the thru-hull fitting. The two hoses need to come together into a Y fitting, not a T fitting. Then the single hose from the Y can flow down to the thru-hull fitting. This allows water to flow drain down and out the thru-hull
and not back through the other pump. And certainly don't use the same 12V feed.
