New owner - 27FC

Post by DCatSea »

At last - I have just closed on an '84 27FC in Charleston SC.
"Vita Parlan", (to be renamed), is in VGC, and will be rolling up I-95 to Deale MD in the very near future, where she will be getting a face lift before coming out on the Bay later in the season.

DCatSea, mucho Congrations. What a great day when it finally gets all worked out. I know with our boat purchase there were highs and lows, on an offs, but it got done. What engine does it have, is the face lift mechanical or cosmetic? Hope all goes better than planed and your on the water under budget and ahead of schedule. Thanks, Mark.

Thanks Mark, exciting indeed - as you say, all we have to do now is make the upgrades under budget - it'll be close - and get on the water ASAP.
All things considered - age etc - she's is very good shape; a few smallish cosmetic issues to sort out, some gel coat to bring up to par, plus electronics and safety stuff to upgrade/update. West Marine sent a limo for me today, but I sent it back.
Got a good survey and trial with nice results; these old girls can still get it on, with a little waxing and polishing.
The Lehman 4D61 runs cool and smooth, so our fingers are firmly crossed for this season's puttering around.

Vita Parlan (to be renamed) arrived safely at Hidden Harbor Marina in Deale MD on Monday. She is on the stocks for a good cleaning and waxing, sea-cock clear out and a new transducer. Just spent the day under her with a couple of buckets and and cleaning gear. Happy to say that the previous owner's long-term TLC really paid off. VP looks very good below the water, and well cared for inside.
Happy Days on the Chesapeake Bay ahead.

Congrats on the purchase and safe transport to Deale. We finally splashed our boat this Saturday after several days of washing, sanding, compounding, polishing, waxing, etc. amazing how tlc can bring these boats back to brilliance....now on to fixing some gremlins with our boat's systems. Hope to see you on the water at some point soon!

Thanks for the congrats and of course a reciprocal to you guys, on getting her wet after all the hard work. What kind pf Albin did you get?

You are right - they do clean up very well with a little elbow grease and a pressure washer, some waxing and polishing etc.
I have just ordered the new name plates; her new name is "Mazboot", which means "Just Right" in Arabic, (we met in Qatar) and also has a vague reference to my years of submarine service (UK). Hope to be launching her on July 17th and having a rudimentary naming ceremony at the same time.

Look to seeing you in the Kent Island / Bay Bridge area some time.

Finally splashed her on 6/24, at Hidden Harbour Marina, Deale MD, and didn't mess up the docking too badly, (it's a tad tight).
We can now start on the "other stuff", beginning with a serious update of electrical and electronics, and fixing the shower.

Looking forward to a long and happy relationship on the Chesapeake Bay

My previous should have said "....splashed her on 7/24...."

Now pleased to say we had a successful maiden voyage today. Just a couple or hours in the Deale MD vicinity, but all systems worked well, and she ran cool and true to course.
"Mazboot" is coming along well. and the TLC is starting to pay off.
