New Mast is Up

The original Stainless Arch is stored in the loft of the barn and after a couple of soft stops the new mast is up! Time to decorate it.

Launch is scheduled for next Thursday or Friday. It's time to get off of the hard.

I'd say it gives the Albin a whole new look. It looks great, clean and uncluttered.

Once she's got all of the gear on it I'll post another picture.

When I purchased the boat there was not a spotlight on board so I purchased one of the new Marinco 360 degree lights. Having it on top will prevent any reflection from the rails and deck. I had a forward rooftop mounted one on the 28 and it often seemed to catch a reflection from the pulpit bow rail so I headed in this direction.

I'd like to go to a mast on mine but need something that folds for trailering.

How did you run the wiring to the mast? There's a cable way along the perimeter of the roof, and then you'd have to exit that somehow and head up the mast. Could be done. Just curious on how you did yours. Thanks.

I see you put spreader lights on the back deck. I am struggling to find the best solution. I was afraid of getting glare from them down on the brim of the hardtop. How has your location worked out? Ran the cables up from behind the salon galley station to the cable chase perimeter and coming out at the center windscreen through the starboard access hatch for the wiper motor then back to the wire chase (2 inch pvc pipe inserted in rooftop). Planning to have a 1 inch thick piece of starboard cut wide enough for the wires with a U-Channel cut into it running from the wiper motor hole access back to where the chase goes through the rooftop. Where it goes through the rooftop the starboard will lollipop to accept another dome light for the cabin set just below the rooftop wire chase. The pvc pipe chase protrudes through the roofttop about 2 inches to prevent water (if it ever gets there) from running down into the pilot house. Take a look at the picture above of the rod rack to get the idea of the starboard chase and lollipop that I will fabricate. It will look factory as the others do.

In the picture of the rod rack posted previously, one of the original 55W halogens on the rooftop edge is swapped out to LED and one to go. Albin mounted these in this location and there is no glare. On my 28, Albin mounted them to the radar arch. Honestly .. no glare recalled, but they sure were blinding bright! I had eventually switched the ones on the 28 out to LED as well. I'm working my way through the boat with an LED conversion.

Here is a pic of the halogens on my former 28. Similar to what I believe you were thinking.
