I need to replace the caulking in the aft cabin side lights of the 40' model, circa 1983 and I cannot figure out how the interior teak trim is fastened to the now somewhat pulpy teak plywood/cabin side without having to dismantle the entire outside and inside units.
Has anyone had to deal with this type of issue ? Can you let me know how to remove the interior teak trim so that I do not split the wood? I am replacing the teak plywood interior since the stains built up over the years are too large to bleach.
Thanks,

I just replaced all three front windows on my 83 40 ft trunk cabin.
I am getting ready to do the aft side windows.
I assume they are assembled the same way as the fronts...meaning the outside trim must be removed via the screws under the plugs. These trim pieces screw into the interior that's what holds the assembly together.

THANKS JAY LEONARD FOR THE INFO. I WAS AFRAID OF THAT. I REPLACED THE FRONT WINDOWS AS WELL BUT FOUND I JUST HAD TO EXTRACT THE SCREWS HOLDING THE TEAK TRIM PIECES AROUND THE INSIDE PERIMETER OF THE FRAME ( THE PIECES HOLDING THE GLASS IN PLACE) AND PRY OUT THE TEAK TRIM PIECES IN ORDER TO GET AT THE GLASS. ONCE I RECAULKED THE AREAS AROUND THE GLASS AND BEDDED THE TEAK TRIM PIECES WITH CAULKING, THE LEAKS STOPPED. THE SIDE WINDOWS ARE A BIGGER PROJECT SINCE THE SLIDER ASSEMBLYS ARE FAIRLY LOW TECH (AND LOW-QUALITY) AND HIDE WHAT REALLY LIES BENEATH AS A PROBLEM. IT RESULTS IN HAVING TO REPLACE THE INTERIOR PLYWOOD IF THE LEAKS GO TOO FAR. THAT IS WHY I AM TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET THE INTERIOR TRIM OFF- IN ORDER TO GET AT THE PLYWOOD VENEER TO REPLACE IT.
