31TE Pilot House Door

Are these still made? I am looking for a 31TE and I have located one with a zip down pilot house door. I'd prefer the swinging door type I've seen on most other 31s. After some searching here, I found the doors were made by the company Aluminum 2000. I called them and found that they don't have records on what doors were purchased for a specific model. They recommended calling Albin Marine. No luck there. I was directed to a manufacturer who no longer makes the products. They referred me back here. So I ask all of you. Where can I find an appropriate door?

I had a parts inquiry with Aluminum 2000 at one point and it took awhile to find someone there who was familiar with Albin. How about just providing them with the measurements of the opening and having them quote you a set of doors that are hinged port and starboard and closing to the center? Have the port door able to dog down when the starboard is open.

Yep... Spring is here!

I was hoping to find out a rough cost so that when I compare boats, I can add this in to the all up cost. You know... apples to apples. The problem with your suggestion is that I don't have a boat to measure yet and may stay away from the one with canvas if the cost of the door was too much. Hmmm...

Door Unit Measurement -

Width from outside of extrusion frame - 46 1/8"

Height from bottom of sill to top of extrusion frame - 74 13/16"

The interior is framed with starboard.

Pitou, thanks for all your help!! I just put an offer on a 31TE with a 420 Yanmar. It is the one I was considering with the canvas pilot house door. I'll keep you posted on how it all turns out. Thanks again for all your help.

Vitamin J, did you buy that boat? I think I was also interested in the same boat and you might of beat me to it. If so, congrats. I am in Gloucester and would like to see it someday. If you want to see my 31, it is located at Cape Ann Marina and has the helm doors.
