bakelite sleeve on cutlass bearing

Post by jvh »

Hello fellow Albin 25'ers! This is my very first post and firstly I want to thank everyone for all the advice and hints that have helped me with my boat (hull #1101) over the past couple of months. I joined the site shortly after buying our Albin25 in the fall but never posted anything as I had no advice to offer being a new owner, and I never asked a question because there is so much helpful information that I was able to find out what I needed. However....please excuse me if this following question has already been asked and answered.....but does anyone know how much space there should be between the bakelite sleeve on the cutlass bearing and the shaft? I am trying to figure out just how worn my bakelite sleeve is as water needs to pass but I don't a wobble either. Any advice greatly appreciated!

Jack
