I need build evidence for Albin 28 TE- to change endorsement
The current COD for my Albin has an operational endorsement of "recreational". The restrictions state : "no fishery and no coastwise- because build evidence not presented".
I want to use the Albin with a 6 pack. Coast Guard told me today that I need original build evidence to change the operational endorsement to- Coastwise and fishery endorsements.
Can anyone out there PLEASE help me with this. Who can I contact to find out where the Albin was made.
What should I do next?
Where can I find someone who worked at Albin to build my 1999 28 TE?
I appreciate your advice!

You can try calling Standish Boat Yard in RI 401-624-4075 and talk to Ken Hilton. They were a big dealer of the Albin's and Ken has a lot of knowledge about them. Good luck.

Check into this "If the vessel is of foreign or unknown build, it must receive a waiver from MARAD through the Small Vessel Waiver Program." http://www.uscg.mil/nvdc/nvdcfaq.asp#34

Re: I need build evidence for Albin 28 TE- to change endorse
Ok well this may be a long shot but someone now owns Albin...or at least the right to produce larger boats. This person, who's name can't be mentioned on this forum has a brokerage firm that has several new and yet to be built Albins on Yachtworld...that should be enough to find out who i am talking about.
Either way, as the 'new' owner of the brand he may be able to certify the origin of previously built boats. I am sure he won't do this out of the kindness of his heart or for the love of the brand but it may be an option.
Have you tried calling the USCG Reg. center? they are very nice and always helped me, maybe they would have suggestions or ideas that may help.
Good luck and keep us posted on how this turns out.

If you haven't already seen it, look in blog topic "Tournament Express 26-35" for a 01Sep14 posting titled "Support from Albin" for background info on the ownership trail after Albin closed it's doors. C&C Marine owns the Albin 28 line.
