New Albin 28 owner
I just closed on a 1996 28TE and I'm thrilled. I've been searching for the right boat for awhile, this seems to be the one. After growing out of my glacier bay pilot house, this seem like the right step. It's powered with a 330 Cummins at 1200hrs.
I'm a avid boat guy and a manager Gibson Island Boatworks in Pasadena Md. Fiberglass, paint and metal fabrication are my specialities/passions, but I'm also a master diesel tech.
Thankful for this site, it helped with my decision.
Thanks Richard

Re: New Albin 28 owner
Thanks for allowing me to be the first to welcome you, first to a great boat, second to this site. It looks like you will be a great asset to the current knowledge pool. I personally am new, new to Albins, new to boating, new to this site.
I try to not let my lack of knowledge get in the way of my commenting though. What a great feeling to get a new to you boat. Enjoy an welcome. Thanks, Mark

Richard,
Welcome to Albin Owners Group!
Paint too? There are quite a few around here talking about Albins notorious oxidation problems.

This is great to have a Member who can help.
Great boats with bad paint! So your shop can paint and keep diesels operating ?

Welcome: Looks like a really good fine. The 330 Cummins is proven success. Sounds like a great background.. You will be a true asset to all.

Re: New Albin 28 owner
On my 2001 28TE the fresh water fill is inside Port side coaming, at deck level just behind the observer’s seat.Trailerman117 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 30, 2017 8:47 pm Just took possession of my '96 Albin 28 TE Can't find fill for fresh water tank. Re: New Albin 28 owner
On our '95, the fresh water fill is just below the port side boarding step. It's possible that your boat doesn't have dock water hookup. Ours doesn't.
