USNA Blue Angels 2014
We're thinking about anchoring on the Severn River for the Blue Angels show for the graduating Midshipmen at the USNA. Does anyone (Lou?) have any 'local knowledge' on a good place to anchor? I haven't found any "Notice To Mariners" showing restrictions but heard there have been in the past.

I anchored in the Severen in the 90s, it was very restricted then, probably worse now. Check the local paper or the Naval Academy website for authorized anchorages.

My suggestion, go the day before and watch the practice.
Sometimes they run through the show more than once and there is a quarter of the boat traffic.
On show day, go where you can. There are traffic "lanes" and a ditch area for the pilots that the Coast Guard keep open. The rest fills up fast. Great show. Glad to hear they are doing it this year.
