A New Name For Our Albin-25

Post by NickScheuer »

While enjoying a fine Pickerel dinner (Walleye, in American) in Red Rock, Ontario on our last evening out on the recent Nipigon Bay Cruise (first real Diesel-powered cruise after a lifetime in sailboats), we decided to change the name of our Albin-25 to Du NORD, "Of The North" in French. It's a measure of how much we enjoy cruising Canadian waters.

Our boat had been changed from her original HANNAH to the NORD STJERNE ("North Star" in Norwegian) in recognition of Gayle's Norwegian cousins who first turned us onto these Scandanavian Motor Cruisers. "tjerne" just never rolled off our tongues very easily.

Our Eastport Pram is the DUE SOUTH, which offered alliterative play on the Yawl, TRUE NORTH which towed her. Du NORD will continue that alliteration.

Very nice. Of course I'm assuming Neptune holds dominion over your inland waters as well, so make sure you rename her properly!! :)
