I have looked through the threads here about generators, but haven't been able to find anyone that has a mounted diesel marine generator in their 27FC. I saw all the stuff about portable generators etc.
Anyone on here found the location, put the generator in? Can you send some pictures and details on what generator you utilized?
The pictures of the A/C mount locations in the threads have been helpful.
Looking to buy a small trawler, but having A/C on the hook here in Charleston is a must have on our list. Thanks for you help.

Re: Diesel marine generator mounting in 27FC
I mounted a 2.2Kw Phasor diesel Genset in the engine room of my 27FC

It's on the starboard side where I think the holding tank used to be, I relocated the holding tank further aft under the starboard side seat
PM me your e-mail address and I'll send you a couple pictures

Can you post the pictures here? We'd love to have them for the next person looking to do the same project.
Thanks!

Once I get an on-line place set up to host pictures, I'll try to post some here . . . . eventually

You can attach them directly to your post. No need for a hosting site.don123 wrote:Once I get an on-line place set up to host pictures, I'll try to post some here . . . . eventually

OK - I'll give a photo a try!
I reinforced the platform it's sitting on with a piece of 3/4 marine plywood and the engine mounting bolts were glassed into that, along with studs for mounting the water lift muffler (behind the engine). I then covered the entire platform with a layer of fiberglass mat, sealed with epoxy to make it all waterproof. It fits nicely with room for the water heater to the front
The genset was available in two versions. A 2.2 KW version which runs at 2,000 RPM and a 3.5 KW which runs at 2,800 RPM. They are identical. The single cylinder Kubota makes more HP at 2,800 so it has a higher output. I have the 2.2 KW version
