Fuel Gauge Needed

Post by Dave39 »

Anyone have an idea where I can get a Teleflex fuel gauge (original model) compatible with my sending unit on a 1998 single Cummins. Help? So far I've received no response from Standish Boats.

Hey there Dave, good to hear from you.

Teleflex fuel gauges are Empty 240 Ohms to Full 33 Ohms. Do you have an ohm meter to test your sending unit? This will confirm the sending unit is working and also tell you what ohm range your gauge needs to read. The ohm meter POS goes to the sender terminal and the NEG to a good ground. Depending on your full level you should be in the range I referenced above. To further the test top off the tank and you should get a reading of ~33 Ohms. Then order any manufacturer's quality gauge of the right diameter in the 240-33 Ohm range. I bought all of my gauges from http://www.egauges.com/vdo_marM.asp and went with the VDO Vision series. I too originally had the Teleflex gauge.
