Does any one here believe that the aft shower/tub drain hose ever fully empties into the sump - I remeber something about water running downhill better than uphill from school. It seems that the drain hose goes "up" to reach the sump.
I am thinking a "sump box" in the stern by the shower may be a much better method to ensure the "stinky water" goes away.
Has anyone done any modifications here? (I thought I had read something like this but cannot find it again)(1982 36 DC Trawler) Any good suggestions for "sump box" locations? or photos?
Thanks -
Reb

Re: Aft Shower/tub drain line
Hi Reb,
Would you consider one of these new pumps from Whale?
http://www.defender.com/product.jsp?pat ... id=1612504
Does away with the sump and is small enough to mount close to the tub. Should eliminate any water in the drain line.
They also make a shower version where the "intelligent control - IC" is built right in to the strainer, but that wouldn't work for a tub.

Re: Aft Shower/tub drain line
I just installed a Johnson shower sump, input from the shower pan in the aft head. The tub is too small to use. I routed the output to "T" in the aft sink drain. Pump is automatic.
