28TE 1993 model, how is it different....
From early 2000 models? I am about to purchase a 1993 with a late model 315 Yanmar. Have not done a survey yet. Any weaknesses in the 93 model which i should look out for? Would greatly appreciate any feedback. Thxs. Capt Fred

I guess this is the same boat I looked into, if I recall there is a difference in the "sandwich" material. Earlier boats used Balsa i think and the later boats, from 2000 onwards were built using a different material.
Somewhere on the net is the test reports on it, where they put a section of the material in water for a year and it absorbed no moisture.
If it is the same boat I was looking into, its a nice boat, looks like its used for fishing in the main - but for me it was a little bit too old and we don't need a fighting chair over here in the UK

As Tree mentioned the hull of a '93 is Balsa cored. Not an issue so long as the thru hulls were properly done. Your surveyor will check for water intrusion in the hull in general and should pay close attention to each thru hull and transducer.
I had a 1997, with a balsa core, and had no issues what so ever.
Sounds like the boat was repowered so I'd also check that any old holes/fittings were properly patched.
