Blue smoke
I was unable to run my '97 Beast for about 3 cold weeks. Started yesterday. At 1000 rpm in gear there was no smoke. When I took it out of gear, after 8 min. or so in gear, and ran to 2000 rpm there was a fair amount of blue smoke. When it dropped to idle-no smoke. The engine water temp. was never warm. Just barely lifted it off the peg. Oil temp. was normal. Any thoughts?

Re: Blue smoke
Idling at the dock even in gear will NOT get the temp up on a diesel. The blue smoke is the resultant unburned fuel because the cylinder temps are low.
Normal.
Normal.
