vacuum gauges

Post by halfmoon »

Recent problems have prompted me to consider adding vacuum gauges to my 28 with Yanmar 300 engine. Has anyone done this and, if so, how did you plumb the system and what equipment did you use?

If you have a Racor filter get a vacuum gauge that mounts in place of the T handle on top of the canister. Here is a site that sells them: http://designatedengineer.com/index.html

I have always had vacuum guages on diesel engines. Tap the test port on the induction system after the aftercooler and run
PET tubing to the helm. For guages, I am a pilot and pickup aircraft vacuum/boost guages at aircraft fleemarkets, but have seen
teleflex guages also.
