1986 36 Albin Trawler interior teak color???

Hi Gang,

After several great tips on removing my cabin entry doors I am stripping them and putting new Cetol on the outside but I am not sure what to do on the inside. I had the doors dip stripped at a furniture restorer, came out great, but now I have to stain or coat the inside too. Does anyone have an idea of a make and color stain that was a close match to our Albin interior teak?

On my 1983 we used Minwax satin polyurethene where needed and it matched perfectly.

NO color. Just satin clear polyurethene.

How did you remove the port door?

Red chestnut worked well in our 81 36

I used Minwax cherry for the stain (as recommended by Boatman) and then coated with Minwax clear semi-gloss polyurethane Came out great.
Have only done doors so far.

To get the port door out I cut out a length of the 1/4 inch over hang of the upper track just long enough to let the top of the door to swing out. I then plan to glue the piece to a piece of teak that I will stain the same as the door and frame which I will screw to the frame. This will become a removable section to get the door out in the future. I saw this on the site and it worked great.

The boat yard near us used Benjamin Moore colonial maple stain for the color. I am re-using that for the floor this yr.
