water heater comparison

Post by amber jj »

Our Seaward F700 hot water heater has sprung a leak. When I inquired to replace it ,they said they do not stock on the shelf for this model. They said there would be a 3 to 4 week waiting period before they could ship.Anyway they offered a comparable one, a Camco 11811 which is about $100.00 less.I was wondering if it would be as good a product as the seaward?Has anyone else had anything to do with Camco products? Thanks for any input.Bob

I have no experience with the Camco but like this feature in their item description: "Patented temperature control keeps potable water at approx. 140 degrees by controlling coolant flow through the 7/8" heat exchanger reducing the risk of scalding." My water heater goes right up to the engine coolant temperature close to 190 degrees - very hot.
