Re: Great day of Fluke Fishing
We fluked aboard TR all day Saturday, nothing but shorts but at least some sea bass hit the filet table. A 25" 10lber? That's a fatty!!

According to Wikipedia, yes...ScubaPete wrote:Is a fluke like what we call a flounder down here in the South???

Although there is also the "Southern Flounder" (no eye spots)

Re: Great day of Fluke Fishing
Up here Summer flounder are called fluke. Winter flounder are called just flounder. You can tell them apart by the direction of their eyes. Fluke are left eyed and Flounder are right eyed. Another big difference is flounder don't have teeth. Fluke most definately do.
[ Regulations are different for each species. Here is Rhode Island, you cannot keep winter flounder caught anywhere in Narragansett Bay.
