Aft cabin ventilation

Post by meridian »

I’ve just purchased a 1983 36’ Albin DC with the bunk on the port side in the aft cabin. I’m looking for ways to cause more ventilation, other than fans, in the bunk area especially the side against the hull. Any ideas?

Cowl vents and dorade boxes (as on many sailboats)?

Yes aft cabin ventilation is a big problem. You can try making a wind scoop thing, that will help. Also open the middle windshiled panel, that lets in a lot of air.
When it rains, there is not much you can do other than add some scoops as was suggested above.
