Yes we considered that route. No particular reason we chose the Erie other than the areas we want to visit in Canada are more west, the summer is only so long, and we have to desire to rush or move every day.

I thought I might still be in Newburgh when you went by but I brought Sonny home to Norwalk on Friday (LATE Friday, but that's a story for another day!)

Assuming you hit the river in the next couple of days keep an eye out for the Nina and the Pinta. They've been in Newburgh since Wednesday and they were still there late Sunday. Not sure if they're headed up or down river next.

Have a great trip! I'll raise a glass to you guys in Essex!

If you take Lake Erie, feel free to stop here in Cleveland, Ohio. You can dock at FCYC yacht club and be happy to meet you. Also Put-In-Bay is a great stopover during the week when it is toned down. It is like being in the keys. Feel free to contact me at tgwenham AT gmail.com .

I will consider that option, thank you very much.
I just asked my wife if today was tuesday.....I guess the retirement thing is working for me.
Although I still think about work after one week of retirement ....but what I think about is that it pretty much sucked. LOL
Ya know today I had to do my first under way repair...and it only took 10 minutes.

Yes do it.
We just sat out a tx storm here in Haversraw Bay. The "new" Danforth passed the test on short scope, but the wind was only about 20-25 knots. Lots of rain and lightening, now there's a nice warm breeze and I think round 2 passed to our south.
