wax every month to deal with evil gel coat oxidation = no

I had Awlgrip put a blue hulled sail boat and was told not to wax it. The wax attracts dirt. I never waxed it and it looked like new for years and then I sold the boat.

for years i have been a die hard collonite fan. a couple years ago i feel victim to a plea from an awlgrip rep to use awl-care wax....mistake. its the only wax ive seen that did actually "stain" or attract dirt. back to collonite, 4 times a year.

One last update - the completed product - now outside and nearing ready to splash in April.

Final tasks were clean up the swim platform and awlgrip top sides and bottom. Also replaced the swim ladder as the old one was toast.

I'm thrilled with the results!

My old albin had an Awlgrip finish. What I was told was to never wax the boat, and believe me it didn't need it. Even after six years it still shined beautifully. Once a year I would wipe on a product I bought from West Marine called Awlcare I think. Basically just a simple polish made for Awlgrip finishes, but it really didn't need it and I had the dark green hull.
