Albin 36 manual bilge pump

Post by Parrot Adventure »

Hi,

We are considering purchasing a 1981 Albin 36 aft cabin. Does anyone know whether these boats have a manual back up emergency bilge pump? I looked at several other trawlers and they all have manual pumps. I didn't see one in the boat we are considering. Any input is appreciated...

Thanks,
Mark

In my 40, the pump is mounted inside the step at the helm entry door.

I'm too old to work a manual pump. My 36 DC had a nasty leak at the rudder post, I just added 2 extra bilge pumps with floats and bought an electric (110 V) sump pump for if things got really bad. I didn't have time to fix the leak, which incidentally fixed itself after about a week. Anyway..my 36 did not come with or have a manual pump.
