Chased down by a guy on a dinghy!

Post by To the First »

Sunday as we took the boat out for Sunday brunch and a little tooling around, we noticed a dinghy following us for at least a half hour…When we turned to head back the direction we came from, he yelled out to us so we slowed down. Would you believe he recognized the boat from the Bahamas! (Still in the process of changing decals due to Coast Guard delay. But the previous owner would take her there in the winter.) Skip is his name, which is fitting for this man who is retired and by the looks of his chestnut brown tanned skin. We could see that he has spent many of years out on the seas. He is indeed an Albin owner too!!!
We got to chatting about the fine boats that they are. Exchanged numbers, and now looking forward to many days on the water with him 8) we informed Skip about the group, although “not a computer guy” he said. He is interested in boating with other Albin owners. It really makes us feel good about owning our Albin. We think we’ve found a good class of people, obviously passionate about their boating, & wealth of knowledge we sure do appreciate... Win/Win :D

You find Albins in the stangest of places. I found one on the lake in Yellowstone NP, an old 27 sport. Found another this year in Haines, Alaska, also an old 27 sport, being used for charter fishing.

The Albin count here in Bermuda is 10 boats. Not bad for such a small area: 1 25, 2 27 sports, 3 27 aft cabins, 1 28, 1 34 trawler, 1 32, 1 47.

Do you make the boat trip to the states? If so, how often? We would love to take a trip to Bimini, then maybe further down the Bahamas, but don't know if Im ready to head that far off the shoreline just yet :? Maybe next summer :)
