Hi All

Post by Ben62 »

We are a boating family living in Wilmington NC. We spend as much time as we can up in the Atlantic Beach, Morehead City NC area as well.

Reformed sailer. We owned an Ericson 29 that we sold 8 years ago when our oldest son was born. Since then, our boating has been on our 1986 Mako and a 1950 Harkers Island work skiff.

For the last 2 years we have been casually looking for a 28 TE. Now that our youngest son has reached the big age of 3 we have decided to get more serious. Will keep you guys informed of our search.

Got a nice 2003 28 TE for sale in the Sale/Swap column, you can read about it here:
viewtopic.php?f=13&t=4863, and many of the upgrade projects are chronicled as well:
The addition of the VacuFlush head and poopometer:

The Auto Pilot

And of course the epic refit of the electronics:

Would not mind delivering to NC!

Hi Ben:
I'm in Wilmington also and have just purchased a 36 Express Trawler, 2001, that I'm keeping in New Bern. There have been a few Albins in our area for sale, a 35 on Cape Fear (Lady K) and a couple of 31's, one I believe near Washington (pics were real nice). Let me know if I can help out in any way. Happy hunting.

Marco

Thanks for the information. When all is done, I will keep this one at Masonboro Boat Yard. Not far from my house and we have had a slip there since 98. Hope to take some trips up to Cape Lookout this summer if all goes well on the search

I was just looking at that boat. Yanmar 440...nice. I just can't get away from those dark colored hulls. 8)

We started looking at 28's. If all goes as planned, we will be the proud owners of a 31 TE with a 450 Cummins this Friday!

Will keep you posted

Way to go! Start out looking for one thing. Wind up buying something else.

Closed Friday and now it is ours. Went out for a sunset cruise sat. Could not have asked for better afternoon. Dolphins followed us and played in the wake. Saw the uss New York.(ship made from the twin tower remains) then had a couple beers at the dock.
