PETA members launched a new anti-fishing campaign on the Seattle waterfront Tuesday. Their slogan? “Don’t let kids become hookers.”

Parents who fish send their children the message that it’s acceptable to torment and kill animals, according to PETA. The protest is the first in a week of events leading up to National Fish Amnesty Day on September 24.

PETA chose Seattle for the protest because Seattle was named one of the top 11 urban fishing cities in North America.

"Parents should get their kids hooked on compassion, not on maiming and killing fish," said PETA campaigner Hayden Hamilton. "Causing these gentle animals of the sea to suffocate to death or die slowly from infections caused by hooks is animal abuse, plain and simple."

Fish are intelligent, sensitive animals who experience stress and pain. The journal Fish and Fisheries cited more than 500 research papers on fish intelligence demonstrating that fish are smart, that they can use tools, and that they have impressive long-term memories and sophisticated social structures.

Seriously? Have they ever watched a Bluefish, Striped Bass, or any other predator fish hunt??

These people are idiots. Interestingly they are adding a "porn" site to their domains to make sure we take their message seriously. So maybe they WANT our kids to be hookers.
