Hi All. My name is Bobby and I have been mining this site for info over the last few weeks and I've found lots of information about the 28TE. I'd like to thank all the members for posting and enabling newbies like myself to learn more than we otherwise could on our own.
I have had experience owning a 22 ft walkaround as well as running my buddy's 30 ft proline twin outboard. This would be my first experience with a single inboard. Some of what attracts me to the 28TE are:
1) The efficiency of a single diesel
2) Ability to handle rough seas
3) Full keel
4) Comfortable ride and ability to maintain speed in a chop
My intended use of the boat would be cruising with the family as well as fishing. Would love to take advantage of the overnighting capability and cruise the sound. I also would like a more comfortable ride to handle the heavy ferry traffic in the lower hudson during afternoon fishing trips. I've always admired the look of the 28TE and, combined with the above attributes, am seriously considering purchasing an engine box model.
Unfortunately , I have never had the opportunity to take a ride on one. I live in Hudson County, NJ and would love to take a brief ride before I seriously begin searching. If anyone in the area would be available to give me a demo, it would be much appreciated. Of course I would be happy to pay expenses. Thanks again and have a good weekend.

Re: New Member from NJ considering Albin 28TE.
Welcome Rob. You will love the Albin 28. I have several friends with that model and they are all happy. Yes, it is great fisher & cruiser. It also can be trailered which is a real plus. Would be happy to give you a ride but I am out west and jumped all the way to a 35TE. My reason is the current 290 Luhrs was & is a great fisher but the little cuddy cabin even though fully equiped is just to small for more than an overnighter. The Albin 28 has twice the cabin for confortable living space. There are lots AOG boaters in your area and I'm sure you will get your ride soon. You will find this a fun and rewarding group.

Bobby,
Welcome to Albin Owners Group. Joining our group is the lest expensive thing about owning an Albin. (or any boat) I'm on the Chesapeake but, if you find yourself in the Baltimore area, get in touch.
