Idle adjustment

Post by furball »

Yesterday I noticed that the idle speed on my 6LP dropped to just below 700 with no load and below 600 when I engage the transmission. Can anyone tell me how to adjust the idle speed on a 6LP? I can't take to rattling of the windows at 600rpm's
Thanks,

It appears you have a set-screw which provides the low speed idle adjustment. I found the following which claims to be the proper procedure for setting:

(Or you can wait until Rob chimes it!! :-) )

Thanks Doug,
Interesting link. I'll look next time I'm at the boat.
I checked to maintenance manual and I didn't see any info.
Evidently not a common problem.
